Pedro is appointed as Executive Director of the National Road Safety Agency
DRSC Alumnus from 2023, Pedro Scarpinelli, has been appointed as Executive Director of the National Road Safety Agency (ANSV) in Argentina. The ANSV is the lead organization responsible for road safety in the county. Its mission is to reduce crash rates through the promotion, coordination, control and monitoring of road safety policies.
Pedro credits his experience with Delft Road Safety Courses in 2023 as “significantly enriching his career”. He says that the course’s rigorous academic framework, combined with the expertise of the professors, provided him with a solid foundation to excel in his current role.
Pedro has more than 13 years of experience in working in organisations and institutions linked to mobility and road safety. Between 2016 and 2020, he worked for the Government of the City of Buenos Aires where he was in charge of designing safe mobility policies before becoming the Director of the Road Safety Observatory and Statistics Unit for the Province of Buenos Aires. More recently he has served as an advisor for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Transport Division and worked as the Safe Infrastructure and Mobility coordinator for the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS). He has also contributed strategies within the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) to roadmap the development of electric mobility in Argentina.
In his new role, we eagerly anticipate Argentina’s road safety performance in the coming years. With Pedro’s unwavering commitment and passion for road safety, we are confident that this will lead to remarkable achievements.
