Farewell and Thank You to DRSC Board Chair Alphons Hennekens
This year, we are saying a fond farewell to Fons Hennekens who has led the Delft Road Courses Board since 2018.
As a former Dutch Ambassador with distinguished track record of working in Low and Middle Income Countries, Fons was an independent and diplomatic Chair with extensive professional expertise that complemented well the knowledge and experience of other board members in the field of traffic safety.
Over the last seven years, DRSC has been through a number of significant changes in terms of our organisational structure and strategic direction. Through this period, the organisation has benefited greatly from Fons’ experience and knowledge in various ways. We are extremely grateful for his support in finding funding opportunities and navigating administrative processes, as well as his strong, diplomatic leadership throughout the Covid 19 pandemic. Fons’ contributions to the development of the organisation’s strategic direction, in particular contextualising traffic safety within the broader challenges faced by Low and Middle Income Countries will remain a lasting legacy.
The Board, and all of us at DRSC, would like to thank Fons for his dedication over the past seven years. We will miss his contributions.
Henk Stipdonk will be taking up the position of Chair later in the year.
