In Memoriam – Jan Herman Koster Treasurer and Board Member, DRSC
It is with great sadness that Delft Road Safety Courses (DRSC) announces the passing of Jan Herman Koster, who served as Treasurer and Board Member of DRSC.
Jan Herman was not someone who took his role lightly. He immersed himself fully in every topic that came before the board, and brought to each discussion a wealth of international experience and expertise. His judgements were always well-founded and independent, and he never shied away from a debate when one was needed.
Those who worked alongside him remember him for his sharp, to-the-point observations — always positive and constructive, and always in service of the broader interests of DRSC. As a board member, he combined intellectual rigour with a warm and effective manner, both toward the organisation’s lecturers and its participants. He played an important role in supporting the transition that has shaped DRSC into the organisation it is today.
His incisive analyses kept us sharp. His commitment and dedication were a constant. His loss will be deeply felt by the board, by his colleagues, and by all who had the privilege of working with him.
Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this difficult time.
