Thank you to Paul Wesemann
Earlier this year one of DRSC’s founding members Paul Wesemann stepped down from his role on the DRSC Board.
Paul has been a visionary leader and driving force behind Delft Road Safety Courses since its initial conception in 2010.
After over a decade of dedication and tireless work, Paul has decided to step down, leaving behind an incredible legacy that will continue to shape the world of road safety for years to come. His passion for road safety, combined with his expertise in traffic engineering and sustainable transportation, has made a significant impact on countless lives worldwide.
Paul played a pivotal role in the success of Delft Road Safety Courses. His efforts secured crucial initial funding, leading to the inaugural course in October 2012 and he has been a dedicated member of the team since then. In 2015 he took on the role of Program Manager, helping establish Delft Road Safety Courses as a registered NGO/Foundation in 2016. Paul was appointed Secretary and Treasurer of the newly formed organisation, sitting on the new Steering Committee that was installed to manage DRSC’s operations. Since 2021, Paul has navigated the DRSC’s transition to its current structure with a professional organisation and backoffice.
Also stepping down this year is Arjan van Binsbergen after serving two consectutive terms on the DRSC Board. Arjan is an Associate Professor in Transport and Planning and TU Delft. His dedication, insights, and unwavering support have played a crucial role in DRSC’s success and on behalf of the entire Delft Road Safety Courses team, we would like to express our gratitude for his invaluable contributions as a board member.
In their place we welcome two new Board members: Martin Damen, Managing Director of SWOV, Institute for Road Safety Research and Peter Snoeren, Chairman of the foundation Road Safety For All. Welcome, we look forward to working with you as DRSC enters a new era.
